Electronics & Communication Engineering Department Laboratories

The field of Electronics and Communications has become an integral part of today technology in various fields. Hence the department has to provide enhanced and focused training to prepare the young engineer to contribute to the developments in these fields.

  • Total investment on department laboratory equipment is 63.5 lakhs
  • The lab experiments will be conducted by adopting the following methodology.
  • 55 Number of Cathode ray Oscilloscopes equipped in the three laboratories to provide hands on experience to analyze the behavior of the system.
As per the university syllabus all the modules will be trained to enrich the quality of the students
  • Apart from the regular practice, 50 % of the experiments should be assembled on dot matrix printed circuit board and applied to any one application to improve the skill levels.
  • Laboratory manuals will be provided for acquiring more Knowledge before executing the experiments
The department has the following well-equipped laboratories :

1. COMMUNICATION LABORATORY


Radio frequency communication, Digital communication, analog communication and Microwave communication related practical skill levels will be inculcated in student minds.
Five Microwave Test Benches (Rs.9 Lakhs) are supporting to upgrade the quality of the practical oriented teaching.





Major Lab equipment :Spectrum analyzer with 1 GHz is equipped to analyze the developed working models.Two digital storage Oscilloscopes with 50 MHz frequency Equipped to Record the waveform for analyzing the results.

2. BASIC SIMULATION LABORATORY


The basic simulation laboratory equipped with 36 core i3 Computers, P-Spice, And Xilinx Software tools used to mould the students with computer based Circuit designing, modeling and analysis experiments enabled to upgrade the Skill levels of the student. FPGA boards are used to develop real time applications.

3. DSP SIMULATION & INTERFACING LABORATORY


Code composer studio and MAT lab software tools are used to develop structural models of the circuits and the developed structural models will be implemented in the DSP Texas Instrument processors for analysis.





Major Lab equipment :‘11’ Number of DSP Processor training modules supporting to meet the challenges of the industry time to time.

4. IC/PDC LABORATORY


Some of the trainer boards are designed and developed by the department in house R&D only. The experiments were designed and implemented on Bread board as well as on trainer boards. Total Lab is equipped with eleven work benches. Each work bench is loaded with Cathode ray Oscilloscopes, Function Generators, and Un interrupted power supply modules. Fifteen Trainer boards are supporting to mould the students with practical knowledge.





Major Lab equipment :50 MHz digital storage oscilloscope is used in association with No11 trainer boards to analyze the parameters.

5. EDC LABORATORY


This is the heart of Electronics. The experiments were designed by in house R&D team Encouraged the students to implement on bread board as a first step. Each experiment should be soldered on the Printed Circuit board as second step to develop real time practical skill levels. PCB manufacturing workshop is conducting every year to promote the skill levels into the student minds.





Major Lab equipment :The Lab is equipped with no ‘11’ work benches. Each bench is loaded with one cathode ray oscilloscope, one function generator, and regulated power supply to analyze and record the wave patterns.

6. MP & MC LABORATORY


The lab is equipped with no ‘30’ i3 processor computers used to develop Assembly language programming. The developed program is implemented on Micro processor boards for interfacing with the environment. Proteus and Kiel software used to develop embedded system related modules.
